I just discovered a Thomas Rosson, born in Ireland, who is the father of Eliza Rosson, who are respectively my great, great grandfather and my great grandmother. Could this be the same as your Thomas Rosson and his daughter, Eliza's sister? Please let me know, as this has piqued my interest greatly.

Any info at all that you could give me would be greatly appreciated. I never heard of a Huegonot origin for Rosson, where did you hear this? Also wanted to know what you thought of the Scandanavian/German origin of the name? Whenever I try to look up Rosson, I usually get nothing, but it directs me ...

Although she was born in Ireland (actually Northern Ireland in Belfast), she was not of Irish nationality. She is listed as a "Belfast Orangewoman", which means she is the descendant of settlers who came to Ireland after Ireland was defeated by Cromwell. I am guessing she is possibly of Scots and/or...
